Halloween

Halloween this year didn't feel a whole lot like Halloween for some reason. We were busy doing other things. Halloween, for us, didn't really start until late in the afternoon when we finally decided what we were going to be for Halloween. Even though Halloween had a late start, we did have fun during the rest of the day. I thought it would be fun to gather all the leaves in the back yard and play in them. It took a while to rake them into a pile, but it was totally worth it. We had a good time playing in them as you can see from the pictures and movies.

Allie and I had fun in our costumes. Allie was a Goth Fairy. Even though she looked the part, her personality just didn't fit. She is just to upbeat and happy to be a true Goth Fairy. She was pretty scary looking. I was anything from a pirate to Wesley from The Princess Bride to Zorro, which I was going for.

We made a stop at Grandma and Grandpa Carter's for pictures. We also made a stop at Allie's Aunt's house where there was a little party going on. We made our final stop of the night at my friend Dave Diehl's place where we made salsa, homemade root-beer, and guacamole. We then watched I am Legend. It was a good night.

Homecoming Week

On Tuesday of Homecoming week we decided to hike and light the Y, since we had never done it before and it was our last year at BYU to do it. It was a lot of fun, a little cold, but it was worth it.

Friday night Allie and I went to The Chef's Table for dinner and then went to the Homecoming formal dance that was held at the Chillion Reception Center in Spanish Fork. It was a lot of fun. Allie, without a doubt, had the largest, puffyiest dress there. People had to get out of our way when we danced and it was fun to see all the people staring at Allie and making nice coments about how she looked!

On Saturday we got up early to go and have free "blue" pancakes that were being given out along the homecoming parade route. The weren't all that blue, they were pretty much green. They were still good though. We were also able to see a little bit of the parade.

All in all, Homecoming week was a lot of fun. I wish we had done more during the other years we were here.

The UK Experience

I had the greatest time visiting Allie! The trip was an experience I will never forget. I left from Salt Lake on the 17th of July and arrived in London in the morning of the 18th. I took a train into Paddington station and there had to buy a ticket to get to Cardiff. I was walking around for a while trying to figure out where I needed to go to get the ticket. I finally found the place and stood in line.
I was having a tough time understanding what the guy selling me my ticket was saying or trying to say. I was only going to buy a one way ticket but the guy asked if I was going to return in less than a month. He told me that it would only cost me one pound more to make it a round trip. I didn't understand what he meant at first and said the one way would be fine. After he only took a pound off the price I understood what he was saying and so I said, "Okay, I'll buy the round trip." I'm sure he was thinking, "Stupid American."
After a two hour and fifteen minute train ride I arrived in Cardiff hoping that Allie was there waiting for me because I had no clue where I was. Thankfully she was there. We then hauled my luggage for twelve hundred miles to her flat. Okay . . . it wasn't that far, but it sure seemed like it.
